Established in 1960, we are the first department of pharmaceutical analysis founded in China. Pharmaceutical Analysis was approved as a national key discipline in 2007. We are one of the first departments in China that can award master's degree (1981) and doctoral degree (1986) in Pharmaceutical Analysis, approved by the State Council. Professor An Dengkui, the renowned scientist in the community of pharmaceutic analysis, is the founder of this discipline in China. He took the lead in compiling the teaching material of pharmaceutical analysis in 1966. Other famous professors, such as Zhang Zhengxing, Wu Rujin, Xiang Bingren, Sheng Longsheng, Jiang Xinru and Liu Wenying have ever worked here. The major of pharmaceutical analysis has been awarded the National First-Class Major, the First-Class Major in Jiangsu Province, and the Major with Characteristics in Jiangsu Province. The department has a national-level teaching team of curriculum ideology and politics, a national-level first-class undergraduate course, a national-level high-quality course, and an excellent teaching team in Jiangsu Province. In addition, the textbook Pharmaceutical Analysis edited by our department is a national planning textbook, which plays a leading and exemplary role national wide.
This department has a total of 36 faculty and staff, including 14 professors, 18 associate professors and 4 postdocrs. 70% of them have studied abroad for over one year.
